What’s the most romantic thing you’ve done for somebody? I once made a – it was supposed to be a 30 minute - bean salad that took me like 6 hours. He was like, “Oh, she made me a six hour bean salad. It was the best thing I’ve ever tasted.” I put a lot of effort into that.
Having gotten more famous this year, are you making any sort of plans to insure you maintain a certain normalcy in your life? Yeah. I go camping with the bears and the bugs up in northern Canada. It’s funny, because I was in Toronto for like three days, because I had just wrapped the other film, and my friends and I went out for brunch and then went to this huge garage sale. I was having these flashes. I was walking home yesterday – like not that long ago, with a big chair over my head and a $5 coffee table under my arm. Stuff like that helps, I find.
You bought a chair and a coffee table? Yeah, we bought a chair and a coffee table that only had three legs.
If I hurt someone, if I were to accidentally poke someone's eye out, I would laugh. And then I'd say, 'I'm sorry, I really do feel bad,' but then I'm on the floor rolling.
A friend of mine had this great theory about the Teletubbies, that it's preparing us for being mindless. And getting us ready for living in an underground world. That's why the scenery is so flat. When they build the underground world because we can no longer breathe the air that it will look like Teletubbie land.
I was not popular in high school, I know every actress says that, but really, I was a big geek.
(talking about the Spiderman cartoon) "I don't remember it. My brother says he remembers it and he loved it. And he was younger than me. I'm waiting for them to make Thundercats. I would love to be Cheetara."
(talking about how Red Eye was "particularly claustrophobic to shoot") "When I first got on there I was like, 'I'm going to go insane. I'm going to go insane.' (But) after a month I was like sitting on the plane, buckling up, getting ready to get terrorized and it was all in a day's work."
I'm a perfectionist. I'm very hard on myself, and that's not helpful when it comes to acting.
I wanted to be a secretary, I love paper clips and staplers.
I love it when men put themselves on the line, or women put themselves on line, for someone that they like," McAdams said. "Love is really kind of crazy and it doesn't make a lot of sense. 'The Notebook' is about big, sweeping romantic gestures. It's a romantic love story about being swept off your feet. It's about falling in love for the first time. It's unabashedly romantic.
